About Diabetes
Type-1 diabetic patients and insulin-dependent Type-2 diabetic patients require external insulin in order to regulate their blood sugar levels. They generally take insulin injections and have strict dietary restrictions. Incorrect doses of insulin lead to hyperglycemia and hypoglycemia (high and low blood sugar).
Prolonged hyperglycemia can lead to neuropathy, nephropathy and retinopathy. Even short durations of severe hypogclyemia can cause dizzines, induce a coma and may sometime even lead to death.
